Premium Embroidery

DeCom offers Flat, Cap, and Specialty Embroidery—including 3D puff, appliqué, and reverse appliqué—to bring texture, depth, and polish to your brand.

We use the highest grades of thread from Isacord, Robison-Anton, and Madeira. With Pantone®-guided color selection and specialty options like high-vis, metallic, and glow, your embroidery will look consistent and stand out on every run.

Flat Embroidery

Ideal for garments and products that can be sewn flat—shirts, polos, hoodies, bags, draperies, flags, and more. Flat embroidery delivers a clean, classic look with excellent durability.

  • Crisp detail and refined texture
  • Works across a wide range of substrates
  • Brand-consistent color with Pantone guidance

Cap Embroidery

Caps are hooped with a curved frame to maintain shape and prevent distortion, ensuring precise detail and professional results.

  • Structured and unstructured cap programs
  • Front, side, and back placements
  • 3D puff options for raised logos

Specialty Embroidery

Advanced techniques add dimension and artistry to your design.

  • 3D Puff: Raised lettering/design for maximum depth and impact.
  • Appliqué: Fabric pieces sewn on top to form the logo or artwork—reduces stitch count and adds texture.
  • Reverse Appliqué: Fabric sewn from underneath and revealed for a distressed or frayed aesthetic.

Specialty thread options include high-visibility, metallic, and glow-in-the-dark for unique effects.

Thread & Color Management

We use premium threads from Isacord, Robison-Anton, and Madeira for consistent sheen, strength, and wash performance. To simplify color selection and ensure brand consistency, we align thread choices to the Pantone® Matching System (PMS).

  • Extensive thread libraries for precise color targeting
  • Specialty threads: high-vis, metallic, and glow
  • Optimized for cotton, blends, performance fabrics, caps, and outerwear

How Fabric Type Affects Embroidery

The same logo can look different across garments. Fabric weight, thickness, weave, and fiber content affect how stitches lay next to one another. Tell us the garment type when requesting a quote—we’ll digitize specifically for that substrate.

Stable Fabrics

Caps, twill, canvas, poly-denier nylon, and most outerwear generally require fewer underlays and yield lower stitch counts with crisp detail.

Delicate Fabrics

Rayon, silk, soft pima cotton, and lightweight performance knits need more stabilization and tailored underlay strategies to prevent puckering and distortion.

High-Pile Fabrics

Fleece, terry, plush hoodies, and other pile materials can swallow fine detail. We adjust densities and use a water-soluble topping (e.g., Solvy) to keep stitches elevated and legible.

Artwork & File Preparation

  • Vector preferred (AI, PDF, EPS, or SVG). Outline fonts and include Pantone targets if applicable.
  • ✔ Raster accepted for patches/badges—provide 300 DPI at size.
  • ✔ Already digitized? We accept DST, OFM, and other common stitch files (we will verify compatibility).
  • ✔ For small text, a minimum height of ~0.2"–0.25" is recommended for clean legibility.
  • ✔ Share garment type(s) and placement notes so we can optimize density, underlay, and stabilizer.
